Migos’ Offset and Takeoff Sign With Reservoir Publishing: Exclusive – Billboard

Offset and Takeoff of the Migos have signed a global publishing deal with indie publisher Reservoir Media, Billboard has learned. The duo, who along with third member Quavo make up the chart-topping Atlanta trio, will have both their individual and collective catalogs represented by Reservoir. (Quavo’s publishing is covered under a separate deal and is thus not included here.)

After years designated as underground favorite on the hip-hop scene, the Migos exploded onto the mainstream stage over the past several months, with the single “Bad and Boujee” feat. Lil Uzi Vert topping the Hot 100, their sophomore album Culture debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 earlier this month, and the video for “T-Shirt” becoming a near-instant viral sensation on its way to its current No. 26 rank on the chart.

“Migos is without a doubt the hottest hip-hop group in the game right now,” said Reservoir’s of A&R and catalog development Faith Newman, who brought the rappers to the roster, in a statement. (Incidentally, having been the A&R who signed Nas to Columbia and helped usher in Illmatic, Newman may know a thing or two about the subject.) “I can’t wait to work with Takeoff and Offset to help them capitalize on their huge success.”

Currently, Migos has four songs from Culture on the Hot 100: the aforementioned “T-Shirt” at No. 26; “Bad and Boujee,” which remains at No. 2 after 13 weeks on the chart; “Slippery” feat. Gucci Mane at No. 73; and “Kelly Price” feat. Travi$ Scott at No. 100. The group is also featured on Big Sean‘s “Sacrifices,” which at No. 70 gives the Migos another chart placement for the week.
