Joanna Trollope: It’s sexist to call my novels ‘Aga sagas’ – Telegraph.co.uk

Trollope, 73, who has been married twice and has two adult daughters, made headlines in 2014 when she said that at her age she valued “loyalty and trust” in a partner above monogamy.

In recent years she has been in a relationship with Jason Kouchak, a classical musician more than 20 years younger than her, but she told the Sunday Times that she was now “100 per cent single. By choice”.

The author also criticised the “absolutely enormous” pressure on young women in the modern age.

She said: “The pressures on them are absolutely enormous. The expectation is that you’ll be brilliant at everything. It’s terribly important to look wonderful. It’s important to be clever and to have an amazing relationship filled with tantric, chandelier-swinging sex.
